Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG vs. Jaguar F-type

Jaguar company reply ad to Mercedes, funny commercial.

We all remember how impressive the Mercedes-Benz’s magic body control ad is, using funny chicken dance in front of us to demonstrate its active suspension system. The British brand Jaguar company seems a little jealous about it, so they arrange a jaguar eat up the dancing chicken with “see, it’s Mercedes” in their newly ad.

The competition between cars manufactures never stopped. As the ad puts it “we prefer the jaguar reflexible”, the newly launched F-type’s lightweight aluminum body construction and advanced driving technologies deliver a powerful, agile and distinctive driving experience. Despite its bulky appearance, its F-type V8 S is a monster: 0-60 mph in 4.0sec and a top speed of 186mph.

Compared to the F-type, the Mercedes SLK55 AMG, failed a little by 0-60mph in 4.6sec and a top speed of 155mph. Though its torque peak arrives quite high, the SLK hauls from lower rev than Jag. And it chases peak power at 6,800rpm hard with a wonderful bassy roar and real energy.

And when it terms with comfort, the Mercedes can always trounces its opponent. Only with the roof up, it can be refined and better insulated. Because if driving at speed with the roof down, the F-type is just so damn noisy. And by the way, the Mercedes’s SLK definitely holds an advantage with its hard top for insulating from rain and wind. It is said that quite a few times in the F-type it felt like a drop of rain hardly make its way through the canvas roof. In Britain, it is especially important for its damn bad weather.
